Our client is currently seeking a Sales Representative to join their Ontario Crop Input in Waterford, ON.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Salesperson is an agricultural sales specialist who pulls together products, resources and services and strategically targets the marketplace to serve existing customers and develop new customers by building long term relationships based on a thorough understanding of the customer’s business needs.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES                   

Establishes a sound business relationship with a selected customer base in a marketing territory in order to serve the business needs of farmers.  Develops business plans with significant customers.  This requires targeting customers, visiting and communicating with farmers to sell fertilizer, chemicals and seed.

Completes credit applications as required or ensures that credit applications are in place before sales transactions are done.  Monitors receivables and works with clients to stay current on payments.

Develops relationships with seed and chemical manufacturing representatives and other knowledgeable crop input resource people to stay current on issues, opportunities and knowledge base. Also assists “in season” at the location for customer service needs.                                               
Knowledge and Qualification:

  • Understand the local Canadian agricultural system including crop production practices and needs.
  • Understand all administrative requirements. A sound knowledge of agronomy including fertility, weeds, insects, diseases and seed varieties and the range of crop input products and services including fertilizers, crop protection products, seed and application services.

  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • CCA is an Asset
  • MS Office
