The Area Leader is responsible for 15 Team Members.

Duties include but not limited to:

Maintain and establish effective communication between all departments including: Engineering/ Quality/ Human Resources and Materials

Direct all areas of material process flow, shipping throughout the facility

Maintain and input all records to support customer delivery standards

Oversee all areas of material flow, shipping and receiving throughout the plant.

Monitors and adjusts inventory balances as required, investigates inventory problems and implements solution to source. Support new program development as required.

Maintain Team Member records and deliver discipline as necessary.

Work with Human Resources to implement and utilize the progressive discipline process.

Encourage professional / personal development to enhance team performance.

Cross train team members to maximize flexibility and coverage to accommodate vacations and absences.

Ensure departmental compliance to all Health and Safety procedures / standards.

Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and ensure all duties are performed in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies at Company.

Conduct 5S and Layered Process Audits as outlined.

Conduct safety talks and communicate safety bulletins.

Train Team Members on the specific job hazards.

Facilitate Accident and Incident Investigations.

Enforce safety rules and correct unsafe acts or conditions Perform other duties as designated.

Recommended Qualifications University or college diploma preferably in Materials Management. CAPIC certification preferred. Minimum 5 years of related experience in an automotive environment.
