CES is recruiting for a Production Manager with a strong Industrial background. Metal Fabrication experience is required. This role provides leadership to ensure the safe and effective operation in all areas of production in accordance with the goals to create a product that meets the specification set out by engineering and customers.

Required Qualifications:

 Post Secondary Diploma preferred in Business Administration or Production/Materials Management
 2-3 Years of management experience in an industrial fabrication and assembly environment
 Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
 High level of time management and ability to lead a team
 Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.); knowledge of CMS an asset

 Must have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with employees, and all levels of management

 Ensure confidentiality of all employee information
 Estimating/quoting in metal manufacturing experience
 Flat development methods, Metrology, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance and Statistical Process Control fundamentals
 Desire to learn the business, understand the production process by walking the floor and participating in production meetings
 A complete hands-on approach is required to assist the plant in developing into a successful and profitable division of a multi-billion dollar company
 Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimal direction
 Ability to work in a team environment and be both a team player and team leader
 Ability to manage and direct subordinates on the day-to-day tasks in a fast paced environment
 Ability to mentor and guide subordinates to achieve overall departmental goals and objectives
 Respect and understanding of the Customer/Supplier relationship
 Adopt a common sense approach to identifying and addressing problems and control weaknesses
 Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations


 Responsible for managing Production and Shipping/Receiving, to ensure the appropriate training, coaching and discipline is given to ensure high performance of tasks to meet scheduled requirements
 Ensure proper planning and control for all areas of responsibility in Production departments (e.g. labour, overtime, equipment, travel, etc).
 Champion of Production related Continuous Improvements; provide input and ensure completion of CI project
 Achieve goals and objectives that are set out each year by the General Manager
 Contribute to ongoing improvements to throughput, inventory and operational expense
 Ensure updated assessments are conducted on production capacity
 Oversees and ensures proper planning and scheduling programs are implemented and monitored to meet sales forecasts through the balance of manpower and machine requirements.

Job Description:

 Monitors current status of customer releases and shipments and communicates potential shortages to AGM/General Manager.
 Prepares Management reports on the status of departmental efficiencies
 Ensure all employees are working in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and procedures
 Continuously look for ways to improve production, quality and safe working conditions in the plant
 Ensure communication flow from company to employees and vice versa
 Assess employees’ ability to perform certain jobs, which can lead to further training or reassignment of job
 Provide employees with coaching and counseling as required and instigate progressive discipline when deemed necessary
 Support Management decisions and employ diplomacy when directing employees
 Provide on time employee evaluations.
 Participate in monthly employee meetings, safety talks
 Conduct incident investigations
 Perform employee safety observations and correct substandard acts or conditions
 Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Employee Handbook
 Must understand the six elements of the Quality System, Record Retention, Document Control, Non-conforming Material, Corrective Action, Preventative Action and internal audits as well as department procedures.
 Demonstrate 5S Methodology in your work area and throughout the plant
