Our client is currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join their growing team in Oshawa, ON.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for monitoring and participating on all floor activities at all times including production, quality and health and safety requirements, reporting to the supervisor where required
  • Ensure that all new personnel have received appropriate on-the- job training so that they are aware of Quality, Productivity and Safety requirements
  • Ensuring a continuous flow of production combined with a hands-on approach at all times promoting continuous improvement initiatives through regular communication with all floor associates, resulting in proactive resolutions to work flow process in order to meet production quotas
  • Ensure Lean and Just-in-Time (JIT) production practices as well as being responsible to level out the scheduling of production activities which controls inventory, decreases lead times and eliminates wastes
  • Ensure that associates are following all rules and codes of conduct established in the Employee Handbook
  • Ensure that associates are provided with the necessary tools and equipment to complete their work efficiently and effectively
  • Serving as role model, lead, motivate and promote a respectful, team oriented workplace
  • Ensure 5S initiatives and Kaizen housekeeping practices are adhered to
  • Ensure that external and internal safe operating principles are in place and adhered to. Comply with provisions of Safety Regulator Governing Bodies and take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of the worker. Comply with any orders and requirements of inspectors, directors and other agents from external corporations. Acquaint a worker and supervise with any hazard present in the workplace providing information, instruction and competent supervision for workers. Be visible, assume leadership, assist in developing and initiating an effective health and safety attitude. Participate and initiate in continuous safety training
  • Other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment with previous leadership experience an asset
  • Must be familiar with quality certification requirements, housekeeping and health and safety
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and organizational skills
  • Technical and blue print reading experience
  • Computer skills considered an asset
  • Must be team oriented, excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s license
  • Must have a good understanding of the OHSA and other safety regulations as it pertains to the work performed
