Our client is currently seeking a Spray Booth Operator who can join their growing team in the Oshawa, ON area. The successful candidate will be applying surface coatings to vehicles.

  • Must have knowledge of:
    • Commercial, industrial practices, processes and equipment of the painting trade
    • Paints, polyurethanes, primers, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, paint removers, solvents, cleaners and related materials, and of their properties and application
    • Applicable code requirements
    • Methods and practices followed in the maintennance of tools, machinery, and equipment
    • Occupational hazards of the painting trade and precautionary measures to be observed
  • Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Must have the ability to complete the following training as required
    • Forklift operation certification
    • Lock out tag out, fall arrest, confined space, ladder safety, emergency evacuation, in house OSHA and respirator training
  • Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking
  • Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades
  • Must be able to handle hazardous materials


  • Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches, cleans and paints truck beds, surfaces, utilizing all types of painting materials such as primers, poly urethane’s, lacquer thinner finishes
  • Tapes, sands, repairs and applies texturing layers on a variety of surfaces
  • Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, sprayers and robotic spray guns and pumps, etc.
  • Keeps records and submits reports of work
  • Erects scaffolding, rigging and ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes
  • Reads and understands work instructions
  • Ability to understand acceptable spray patterns, clogged mix chambers and tips
  • Understands tolerances of spray equipment and bed liner build tolerances
  • Capable of spraying bed liner using manual application equipment in the event of robotic failures, or repairs
