AWS/CES is looking for a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician (CNC Experience Required)

Pay: $26.00 per hour
Job Summary:
This is an entry-level machine maintenance role that works alongside other maintenance technicians at various levels, including journeymen. The position involves performing routine and extensive preventive maintenance and repair procedures on mechanical equipment, utility systems, and facility building repairs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure operation of machinery, mechanical gearboxes, and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, spindles, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Perform machine recovery procedures according to operations manuals and instructions.
- Maintain CNC machinery (CNC turning, dials, and automation systems) in proper working condition.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools, and examining form and texture of parts.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts and using scales, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment, as needed.
- Conduct preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment, pneumatic equipment, and building on a scheduled basis.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance (PM) on maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance in Plex.
- Operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel).
- Working knowledge of CNC machining equipment maintenance including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and small engine systems.
- Ability to conduct maintenance repairs and perform preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Education and Experience:
- Two to four years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
- One to two years of experience in a CNC manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Work Environment:
- The job operates in conditions with constant exposure (67% or more) to noise, odors, dust, drafts, and chemicals.
Physical Requirements:
- Carrying, pushing, or pulling of heavy objects (over 30 lbs.) is regularly necessary.
- Ability to safely climb and access large machinery and tight spaces.
