Advanced Development Engineer

AWS/CES is looking for an Advanced Development Engineer

Chatham-Kent, ON
$80,000 – $120,000 CAD
Direct Hire | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of innovative product concepts from ideation through commercialization
  • Identify new product opportunities based on market trends, customer needs, emerging technologies, and industry regulations
  • Design, analyze, validate, and test new product concepts using engineering tools, simulations, and prototypes
  • Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with external partners to achieve project objectives
  • Facilitate innovation workshops and incubator sessions to generate new ideas and drive product development
  • Manage advanced engineering projects while ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are achieved
  • Work directly with customers to gather feedback, refine concepts, and ensure products meet customer expectations
  • Support intellectual property development, including patent documentation and technology strategies
  • Prepare and transfer complete technical documentation and product information to Product Engineering and Sales teams
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and automotive industry trends
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the product development process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of product development experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with product design, concept development, and prototype validation
  • Knowledge of automotive standards and product development processes
  • Familiarity with intellectual property (IP) documentation and patent processes
  • Experience with embedded systems is preferred
  • Proficiency with CAD software, simulation tools, Microsoft 365, ERP systems, and MES systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
