Canadian Executive Search Group is looking for a qualified Automation Technician  for an automotive manufacturing client in Waterloo.

Salary- $50-65k

(Afternoon or Night Shift TBD)

Position Details:

  • Support daily troubleshooting and repairs on mass production equipment
  • Support preventative maintenance program in a safe and efficient manner with predictive and preventative maintenance activities
  • Use electrical and mechanical skills/knowledge to monitor, troubleshoot and maintain PM Program for a variety of equipment types (Robots, End of Arm Tooling, Conveyors, Vibration Welders, Detection Equipment, Auto Clip/Screw Equipment)
  • Other duties to support projects will be required
  • Support production daily requirements for Quality and Delivery
  • For the right candidate, opportunity to learn automation skills to further develop their skill set may be provided
  • Full-time position with benefits after three months of employment
  • Wage commensurate with work experience

Requirements:

  • 3 years related work experience (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics) or 2 years Community College Technical / Mechanical discipline is required
  • Experience preferences: basic ability to read/understand electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Strong mechanical background
  • Basic electrical understanding
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as an effective team member
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask projects and daily tasks
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to work at heights
  • General machining skills are an asset
