Maintenance Technician
Our client is seeking to hire a permanent, Maintenance Technician
Location: Chatham-Kent, On
Hours: 7 am- 4 pm, must also be available 24-7 for call-ins
The successful candidate will be both mechanically knowledgeable, but also a critical thinker/solution focused.
Salary: $30.00 – $40.00/hour (dependent upon experience)
Maintenance Technician Description
Role Description
- Oversee the surveying of buildings and equipment to ensure they maintain proper health and safety standards
- Conduct repairs on the company or building’s equipment such as heating and cooling systems, or electrical systems
- Maintain and carry out a calendar of monthly and annual equipment checkups or repairs
- Must be a great troubleshooter
- Unlicensed/licensed Millwright would be ideal
- Must have electrical knowledge
- Have Devicenet / Ethernet knowledge
- Some working experience with extruders or injection machines/plastic manufacturing
- Reliable transportation
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs and should be in overall good physical health
- Ability to solve basic problems that may arise on the job
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing systems in day-to-day tasks for the job
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner and be able to prioritize important work
- Ability to communicate any issues or problems to upper management while also being able to work with other staff members to get a particular job completed
- Ability to organize calendars and appointments especially in relation to regular required maintenance
- Ability to multitask and juggle a variety of appointments and requests at one time
- Ability to work in various different areas of the building and perform many different functions to keep the building in good standing
