AWS/CES is looking for Chemical Manufacturing Engineers

Job Overview:
A leading Battery Cell Manufacturing company is seeking multiple highly motivated Chemical Engineering Manufacturing Equipment Engineers to develop and design battery cell manufacturing equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to cutting-edge, high-speed, ultra-high-scale automated equipment for the EV market.

We are hiring candidates at various experience levels to build a diverse and dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement manufacturing equipment from concept to full production.
  • Manage equipment suppliers or internal design teams through key development and deployment milestones (PO release, FDR, FAT, SAT, SOP, Ramp).
  • Define station requirements, including automation needs, buffering strategy, and redundancy.
  • Collaborate with industrial engineering to establish material flow strategy.
  • Identify and plan for necessary utilities, including compressed air and process water.
  • Conduct process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA).
  • Develop equipment timing charts and oversee equipment installation.
  • Coordinate with the building and utilities team for seamless equipment deployment.
  • Develop and execute equipment validation plans.
  • Create detailed Manufacturing Instructions to document new processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Controls, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with new equipment design and large manufacturing line implementation.
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering concepts, including line balancing and timing charts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks preferred, Catia is a plus).
  • Understanding of tolerance stack-ups and manufacturing equipment safety systems (Safety PLCs, guarding, light curtains, LOTO, etc.).
  • PLC controls experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, and/or Beckhoff).
  • Experience with MES, database system architecture, and data tracking (Python and/or MySQL experience is a plus).
