Job Title: Codes & Inspectors Manager
Pay Range: $90k – $116k/y (DOE)
Location: Remote (Canada)

Job Summary
We’re seeking a Codes & Inspectors Manager to represent its corporate interests at regional, provincial, and local code meetings, inspector training sessions, and trade organizations across Canada. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and advancing compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry trends to support our client’s product portfolio and markets.

The ideal candidate will actively develop and propose code modifications, assess external proposals, and communicate impacts to stakeholders. This role also serves as a key advisor to internal teams, ensuring alignment with regional and local code requirements, and promoting understanding among inspectors about new codes and their applications.

Key Responsibilities

Codes & Trade Organizations:

  • Propose and submit code changes for adoption and approval by local authorities.
  • Represent at regional, provincial, and local code meetings and inspector sessions.
  • Collaborate with trade organizations (e.g., CIPH) to develop and enhance industry standards.
  • Monitor industry trends and notify stakeholders of changes and their implications.
  • Provide training on products and their correct applications to industry professionals.
  • Support sales efforts by attending expos and similar events.

Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, certification agencies, and industry peers.
  • Plan and manage projects related to code requirements, including timelines, costs, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Canadian Codes and Standards Manager to promote the products and ensure code acceptance.
  • Travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and SAP.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing and heating techniques and technologies.
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong political and management skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in inspector or code compliance roles.
  • Eligible to serve on Canadian code committees.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and 10+ years of relevant experience may also be considered.
