Canadian Executive Search Group is seeking a Director of Purchasing for an Industrial manufacturing client
Identify best practices to ensure efficient procurement strategies, negotiations and agreements are in place in conjunction with established policy and procedures.
Assist in the formulation and administration Global procurement policies and practices.
Assist facilities to resolve quality, commercial or servicing issues relating to the suppliers.
Re-negotiate any supplier contracts to ensure servicing incentives are identified.
Align with Operations and Engineering on research and review of new potential suppliers, to identify the best total cost, technologies and service that can be made available to Salford.
Participate with other Directors of Purchasing globally to identify strategic suppliers and purchasing initiatives.
Participate in Amalgamated Stakeholders initiatives.
Develop strategies to more effectively utilize corporate purchasing leverage through consolidation.
Promote Corporate services (Machining, Heat Treat, Transportation and Logistics) to suppliers and customers.
Involved in business unit to resolve quality, commercial or servicing issues with suppliers.
Ongoing negotiations with suppliers’ contracts to ensure servicing incentives are identified.
Participate with plants to identify strategic suppliers and purchasing initiatives.
Outsourcing projects (breaking down components to establish target costs, processing RFQ’s, RFP’s and sourcing new suppliers).
Develop strategies for short- and long-term goals and objectives to effectively utilize corporate purchasing leverage through consolidation.
Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
