AWS/CES is looking for a EHS Specialist for our automotive manufacturing client.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update all EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Oversee record keeping, reporting, and documentation for EHS compliance.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings of the Joint EHS Committee.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to reduce workplace risks.
- Lead and monitor Workers’ Compensation (WC) programs, including claims management and mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Representative, maintaining written programs and procedures in line with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and corporate EHS standards.
- Manage all environmental permits, inspections, and compliance reporting at the plant level.
- Train employees on EHS programs, policies, and procedures; conduct new hire orientations and maintain training documentation.
- Coordinate incident investigations, root cause analyses, and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, including storage, handling, and disposal.
- Conduct workplace safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and environmental audits to identify and correct potential issues.
- Lead emergency response planning, training, and drills.
- Maintain EHS performance metrics and provide data for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate selection and use of PPE and safety equipment.
- Collaborate with management to prevent nonconformance and support corrective actions related to safety, product, or process issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of Workers’ Compensation programs and industrial ergonomics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments.
