Department: Ocean Export

Responsibilities

•  Obtain all necessary information from the customer including weight, dims, container
  size, temperature, etc to plan the best and most efficient routing for the shipment via
  LCL of FCL.
• Utilize Rateshare to determine buying and selling costs and plan the shipment
  according to most cost-effective routing as well as customer needs.
•  Create shipment in BWS designated operations systems (IES)
•  Book the cargo with ocean carrier, trucking companies, warehouse companies, cold
  storage, etc as needed for the shipment.
•  Obtain the necessary documentation from the customer including packing lists and
  commercial invoices to be in compliance with the authorities such as US Census
  Bureau.
• File AES on behalf of the shipper if required. POA must always be obtained and on
  file prior to submitting AES.
•  Prepare shipping instructions to the steamship lines.
•  Handle documentation such as bill of ladings and certificate of origin in accordance
  with the customer’s needs.
• Insure the shipment if necessary.
•  File rates with NRA when cargo is shipped on a BWS house bill of lading.
• Send pre alerts to customers and or agent including bill of lading, certificate of
  Origin, and our invoice as needed.
• Accrue costs in BWS designated operations system (IES/Carlo) according to office
  policy.
•  Bill files within 5 days of departure according to office policy.
•  Estimate the files before given deadline per office policy.
•  Close the file before given deadline per office policy.
•  Shipping Overseas experience – multimodal transport
•  Some Knowledge export packaging; handling of Dangerous goods

Qualifications

•  Full knowledge of Ocean and Air logistics
•  Minimum 2-5 years of experience with Ocean Export
•  Highly organized
•  Excellent customer service
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•  Speak English fluently, bilingual a plus
•  Team player (team setting)
