Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a brownfield startup manufacturing facility in Napoleon, Ohio. This role will play a critical part in building and supporting hourly operations at a high-volume final assembly plant The HR Generalist will be responsible for talent acquisition, employee relations, HR administration, payroll support, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Lead talent acquisition and talent management for hourly personnel, including temporary and direct-hire employees

Manage pre-employment, onboarding, orientation, transfers, exits, and assignment changes

Maintain and update HR databases and HRIS systems related to employee lifecycle events

Generate HR analytics, reports, and metrics

Maintain employee personnel records and bulletin board communications

Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture

Respond to daily employee HR inquiries

Assist with workplace investigations and disciplinary actions as needed

Recommend and implement process improvements, policies, and procedures

Support union-related activities, including job postings, job bidding processes, and notifications

Administer HR programs including FMLA, disability, tuition reimbursement, safety, and conduct policies

Manage and complete hourly payroll and attendance processes

Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills

Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEOC, ADEA, NLRA, ERISA, OSHA, and FLSA

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution abilities

Proven ability to build credibility with employees and leadership

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Experience with SAP or other HR systems is a plus
Experience Requirements
-
3–5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
Education Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Equivalent education and experience will be considered
