AWS/CES is looking for a Jr. and Sr. Controls Manufacturing Engineer
📍 Location: Memphis TN 
💰 Salary: $87K – $140K BOE
We are seeking Junior and Senior Controls Manufacturing Engineers to take equipment from concept to full-scale production. These roles involve overseeing equipment design, development, and deployment while ensuring efficiency, safety, and performance in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing equipment from initial concept to production
  • Manage suppliers and internal design teams throughout key project phases, including PO release, FDR, FAT, SAT, SOP, and production ramp-up
  • Define station requirements, including automation levels, buffering strategies, and redundancy needs
  • Collaborate with industrial engineering teams to establish material flow strategies within the factory
  • Determine utility requirements and develop distribution plans (PDPs, compressed air, process water, etc.)
  • Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate risks
  • Develop and optimize equipment timing charts
  • Oversee installation and coordinate efforts with building and utilities teams
  • Establish and execute equipment validation plans
  • Create detailed manufacturing instructions to document new processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Controls, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with new equipment design, installation, and large-scale manufacturing line implementation
  • Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles, including line balancing and timing charts
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
  • Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical equipment design, fixturing, and tooling (SolidWorks preferred; Catia is a plus)
  • Understanding of tolerance stack-up and manufacturing equipment safety systems (Safety PLCs, safety categories, robot safety, light curtains, LOTO, etc.)
  • PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff)
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and database architectures
  • Experience with Python and MySQL for data tracking and system integration
