Canadian Executive Search is looking for a Material Automation Technician to join our client’s team and ensure the performance of automated material handling systems.
Role Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues with Automated Mobile Robots (AMRs), enhancing material automation processes, and assisting with the implementation of new automation technologies. Additionally, you will act as the key liaison between the plant team and suppliers, facilitating smooth communication and operations related to automation.

Key Responsibilities
🔹 Ensure smooth operation of automated material delivery routes and mitigate downtime.
🔹 Identify root causes of AMR faults and obstructions and implement corrective actions.
🔹 Collect and analyze data on system performance, faults, and errors to drive optimization.
🔹 Support the planning and execution of new automation projects in the facility.
🔹 Conduct basic sensor calibrations and assist in routine maintenance of automation systems.
🔹 Train operators on automation procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and daily checklists.
🔹 Act as a Super Key User for automation and guide the team in troubleshooting.
🔹 Promote safety and pedestrian awareness related to material automation technology.
🔹 Serve as the supply chain SME for AMR operational interfaces (e.g., Seegrid, OTTO, JBT Supervisor).
Qualifications & Skills
✔️ 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
✔️ Strong understanding of supply chain and lean material processes.
✔️ Experience with material automation technology implementation and execution.
✔️ High functional capability with supply chain floor systems such as VaaS (Vision as a System).
✔️ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
✔️ Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
✔️ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
✔️ Open-minded, data-driven, and committed to continuous improvement.
✔️ Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements
🔹 Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and 50-75 lbs assisted.
🔹 Frequent bending, lifting, standing, and reaching.
🔹 Working around warehouse and lift truck traffic.
