Pay Rate: $49,000 DOE
Shifts:
- 1st Shift: 6:30 AM–4:00 PM
- Monday–Friday (Saturdays as needed)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Production Team Lead to join our fiberglass manufacturing facility in Columbia, TN. This is a challenging but rewarding role in a non-climate-controlled environment, managing a team of 15-25 employees. You will ensure the team meets production standards while maintaining high-quality output and safety. This position involves daily interactions with staff, monitoring production, enforcing attendance policies, and participating in operational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train operators to effectively run machinery in the department.
- Obtain or maintain forklift certification.
- Oversee work orders and ensure timely completion of production tasks.
- Ensure products are ready to ship and meet customer deadlines.
- Adhere to and enforce quality SOPs.
- Confirm operators use the correct materials in production.
- Perform daily and weekly time corrections for employees using KRONOS.
- Maintain 5S standards within the department.
- Complete and close work orders post-production.
- Monitor safety practices and ensure a safe work environment.
- Track and meet KPIs for your department.
- Perform minor repairs on dies when necessary.
- Enforce accountability and disciplinary actions when needed.
- Collaborate with customer service to address client needs.
- Lead by example, maintaining a positive and productive team atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in basic math and measurement tools (tape measure, digital calipers, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mechanically inclined with knowledge of machinery and packaging equipment (a plus).
- Familiarity with Quality Systems (ISO9001) and 5S & Lean Manufacturing principles (a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Ability to follow and enforce dress code protocols.
- Must not have allergies to fiberglass, foam, or insulation.
