AWS/CES is looking for a  Project Engineer in  (Guelph, ON)

Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 per annum

We are currently seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Project Engineer to join our team in Guelph, ON. The ideal candidate should possess a range of experiences, with a focus on OEM exposure, machining, assembly, leak testing, and familiarity with BSI/IATF systems. Must have 10 years of OEM experience

Job Details:

Determine the operations required for the fabrication and assembly of products by reviewing parts drawings, specifications, and other engineering data.

Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate phases of major engineering projects.

Develop a sequence of operations, estimate time requirements for each, and prepare operation sheets.

Act as an internal consultant, providing technical guidance on the most complex projects.

Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location.

Adhere to Global Operating System Plays, OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety management system standard), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management system standard), TS 16949 Technical Specification Management.

Key Qualifications:

10 years of experience in relevant areas of interest, including machining (CNC turning, Polishing, Grinding, Gun Drilling, Milling, Heat treating), assembly, and leak testing.

Understanding of processes (specs, PFMEA, control plan, ods…), GD&T, and ability to interact with multiple departments and suppliers.

Experience with BSI/IATF systems and OEM exposure (GM, Ford, Stellantis) is highly preferred.

APQP experience and project launch proficiency, demonstrating effective team planning and on-time delivery.

Proficiency in Autocad, Solidworks, and MS Office.

Ability to think out of the box, a go-getter mentality, and a positive attitude.

Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing situations.

Forward-thinking mindset and the ability to contribute to technical changes and improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with various departments and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.

Utilize expertise in machining, assembly, and leak testing to drive process improvements.

Navigate BSI/IATF systems and contribute to maintaining high-quality standards.

Contribute to APQP processes and successfully lead project launches.

Demonstrate effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
