Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Lead Inspector for a manufacturing facility in Wallingford, CT. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering competitive pay and long-term potential.
The Lead Inspector is responsible for overseeing quality activities related to shot peening and finishing of customer parts, ensuring compliance with customer purchase orders and internal quality standards. This role has the authority to stop production if quality concerns arise.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Documentation

Perform incoming, receiving, visual, and dimensional inspections

Review customer purchase orders and complete contract reviews

Create job/part certifications within the E2 system

Review co-worker certifications and packing slips

Issue non-conformance reports and customer awareness documentation

Understand and verify customer technical data (peen required/optional/not allowed areas)

Perform Almen strip inspections for coverage

Conduct sieve test analysis

Utilize a profilometer to measure surface finish

Generate shipping paperwork (FedEx, UPS, etc.)

Maintain daily shipment logs

Self-release customer products as approved by the Quality Manager
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required
-
Manufacturing experience required

Experience with ISO-9001 and/or Nadcap quality systems preferred

Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

Ability to read and follow written procedures
