CES has a client in the Metro Detroit area that is looking for a Quality Manager.

Pay is up to $100k/year Depending on Experience



To effectively implement, administer and maintain the company’s quality management system.  To manage the plant quality department so that it is effective, economic and maintained.  To plan, direct and coordinate the functions and activities of the plant quality department so as to achieve company goals and customer requirements.  To promote continuous improvement methodologies focused on process control improvement, waste elimination and cost reduction.



  • Assures, promotes and maintains ongoing compliance to corporate quality management system and customer-specific requirements.  Leads and assures plant compliance to TS-16949.
  • Oversees the quality release approval of all product produced and shipped to all internal and external customers.
  • Assures ongoing compliance to corporate and plant internal audit requirements.
  • Maintains the plant gauge control and calibration process.
  • Assures effective compliance with the APQP process and approves all customer PPAP submissions.
  • Assures all required quality system and performance records are maintained according to company requirements.
  • Interfaces with customers and suppliers on quality related issues and maintains a positive and professional relationship with customer/supplier personnel.
  • Administers the complaint resolution process and verifies root cause determination and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Verifies the use of appropriate statistical techniques for process control and problem solving
  • Provides accurate and timely data reporting according to corporate requirements.
  • Approves subordinate expenditures, scheduling, hours and compensation and controls department spending within forecast projections.
  • Establishes department priorities, directs staff and coordinates department functions with other departments to achieve company and customer quality goals.
  • Evaluates the performance of quality department personnel to confirm competence and promote teamwork.
  • Determines quality department staffing needs and related training/development to assure continued growth and success.
  • May perform other duties or complete projects as assigned by the Plant Manager.


Specialized knowledge of quality management systems, methods and tools and experience in stamping and metal fabrication processes.  Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent, plus ten years experience in a quality engineering or quality management position.  The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.  Good presentation skills.  Proficient in the use of a personal computer and relevant applications, including the internet.  ASQ certification a major plus.
