CES is seeking a Quality/Repackaging supervisor for a Leamington ON client.
The supervisor is responsible for the efficient operations of the quality assurance and
repackaging teams. As part of the leadership team, the main focus is responsibility for day-to-day
performance (lab and repackaging) and results, measurements to evaluate function performance and
employee individual performance and help faciliate improve productivity.
Duties, Responsibilities and Guidelines:
Reports to: Production Manager
The duties, responsibilities and guidelines for this position will evolve over time as the situation changes
with respect to products and services offered by client
Managing QA & Repackaging team, including allocation of responsibilities and workload
Participate in orienting and training new employees
Assign responsibilities, coach, develop and counsel employees. Collaborate with Production Manager & Operations Manager in conflict resolution.
Conduct performance reviews and generally develop and mentor team members.
Initiate and coordinate QA & Repackaging activities including but not limited to: finished goods and in-process inspection & formal reporting
Provide regular feedback to Production Manager regarding quality performance and issues
Organize and lead the development of processes and procedures in the QA Department. Ensure all
members are properly trained and follow processes and procedures in their day-to-day activities
Establish key performance indicators (KPI) to measure value that demonstrates how effectively QA
finished goods department is achieving key business objectives
Maintain and communicate in-house quality performance metrics and develop a methodology to
measure and manage those entities
Confirm quality of products through use of a biological & stero-microscopes
Dissections of bumble bees and insect production/control counts
Ensure quality of incoming goods by inspecting product and report any visible issues
Abide by all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment
Apply procedures for inventory control
Follow all protocol and SOP’s outlined by the company for proper packaging and movement of
living and non- living goods
Commitment to accuracy and detail oriented.
Ability to perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
Communicate results to the different departments
Assists in evaluating production & logistical data
Performs quality assurance to ensure all procedures are fully implemented
Utilizes & maintains measuring equipment as required
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skill
Effective communication skills.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Knowledge of Excel and other computer programs an asset
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Must possess the ability to effectively manage time and carry out multiple tasks together within a period
Education and experience:
Relevant post-secondary background -a degree in Biology or equivalent by relevant experience
(experience 2 to 5 years).
Knowledge of horticulture and focus on sustainability is necessary.
Experience in a lab setting would be considered an asset
