Senior Ignition SCADA Systems Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Sr. Ignition SCADA Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and improvement of our SCADA and industrial automation systems. This role will focus on building efficient, secure, and scalable SCADA architectures that connect shop floor equipment, enable real-time data collection, and integrate with manufacturing systems like MES and ERP.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement Ignition SCADA systems, including HMI interfaces, historian databases, and industrial networks.
• Develop data acquisition strategies and integrate SCADA with MES, ERP, and other enterprise systems.
• Ensure SCADA security by implementing best practices for OT cybersecurity.
• Lead technical evaluations of PLC hardware, industrial networks, and emerging IIoT technologies.
• Maintain SCADA system reliability, including redundancy and disaster recovery planning.
• Establish standards for PLC programming, HMI design, and industrial communications.
• Provide technical leadership and support for SCADA teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years of experience designing and implementing SCADA systems.
• Expertise in Ignition SCADA, including Perspective, Vision, Reporting, Alarming, and Tag Historian.
• Experience with PLC/RTU programming and industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT).
• Knowledge of industrial database historians and time-series data management.
• Strong understanding of OT cybersecurity, network segmentation, and secure remote access.
• Experience deploying high-availability SCADA systems with redundancy.
• Ability to integrate SCADA with MES, ERP, and enterprise applications.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
