Canadian Executive Search is urgently seeking a Yard Coordinator for our transportation client in Oshawa, Ontario.

Position Outline

The Yard Coordinator will oversee the yard and shuttle drivers to ensure all requirements are completed daily, elevating any issues as required while ensuring compliance with all legislation, safety, and security requirements.

Prerequisites

Minimum 5 years of transportation industry experience
Minimum 2 years in a leadership role
Extensive understanding of all transportation regulatory requirements
AZ licence an asset
Basic operational knowledge of tractor/trailer combinations an asset.
Advanced computer skills including in-depth experience with Excel
Grade 12 education
No criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted

Operational Responsibilities

Schedule and assign carriers and equipment to ensure timely, complete and accurate
performance against customer requirements
Procures and monitors Driving Team Members’ equipment use and requirements
Recommends corrective action measures to address process and/or team member performance gaps in relation to safety and – compliance policies and practices
Acts as the point of contact for Fleet activities, documenting and reporting on equipment status, including data collection in support of KPI reporting
Identifies and escalates process exceptions required to meet customer requirements
Dispatching responsibilities required as identified
Liaison between Driver / Service Provider / Customer
Ensures cross-shift communication
