Welder – Afternoon Shift

Pay: $22.00–$30.00/hour + $2.00/hour afternoon shift premium

About the Opportunity

We are currently hiring 2 experienced Welders for a well-established metal manufacturing client in Windsor, Ontario.

The Welder will be responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal components using a variety of welding techniques. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret welding blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, manuals, and work instructions.
• Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment.
• Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate and repair metal parts and products.
• Perform welding using GTAW (TIG), GMAW, and FCAW techniques.
• Perform multi-pass welding as required.
• Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment.
• Inspect completed welds and components to ensure they meet quality requirements.
• Follow established welding procedures and production standards.
• Identify and report quality or equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all health, safety, and company procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of welding experience.
• Current welding certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including:
  • GTAW / TIG
  • GMAW
  • FCAW
  • Multi-pass welding
• Ability to read and understand welding blueprints and technical drawings.
• Ability to safely follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment is an asset.

Working Conditions

• Work in a manufacturing/shop environment.
• Exposure to noise, sparks, welding fumes, grinding debris, and moving equipment.
• Regular standing, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Required PPE must be worn at all times.

• Follow all workplace health and safety legislation and company safety procedures.
• Follow welding procedures and quality control requirements.
• Complete required production and quality documentation.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
