AWS/CES is looking for a Welding Department Manager
📍 Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
💰 Compensation: $80,000 – $85,000 per year
🕒 Shift: Day Shift | Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Welding Department Manager to lead and oversee welding operations. This role involves managing personnel, ensuring safety compliance, inspecting final products, and maintaining high-quality standards for a Maritime Company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all welding operations, ensuring compliance with guidelines and contract requirements.
- Supervise welding and fabrication in aluminum, non-ferrous, and stainless steel.
- Ensure all required certifications are maintained.
- Manage a team of welders and monitor performance.
- Work with Service Operations leadership to improve welding processes.
- Conduct inspections, develop weld procedures, and ensure NDE compliance.
- Act as a liaison between customers and management.
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Required Experience & Competencies:
- 5+ years of welding experience, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, processes, and equipment.
- Experience with problem-solving, leadership, communication, planning, and scheduling.
- Ability to develop welding procedures and conduct root cause analysis of defects.
- Knowledge of NDT methods and compliance with contract documents and Class requirements.
- Proficiency with computer systems and reporting tools.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to temperature and humidity changes, working outdoors, and around water.
