Canadian Executive Search Group (USA), a division of Arrow Workforce Solutions, is currently seeking a skilled Electrical Project Estimator for a nation-leading construction firm in Reno, Nevada.

Location: Reno, Nevada
Start: Immediate – Direct hire
Schedule: Full Time – ONSITE Compensation: $115K – $125K DOE + Relocation Support + Competitive Benefits Package

SUMMARY:

The Electrical Project Estimator will play a critical role in providing strategic support to the Marketing and Business Development Department and leading the Estimating department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing prequalification questionnaires, participating in client meetings, and evaluating projects for optimal estimates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

○ Offer input on prequalification questionnaires to support the Marketing and Business Development team.
○ Collaborate with the Marketing and Business Development team to schedule presentations and client entertainment activities.
○ Develop and maintain an updated presentation of the company’s background, capabilities, and offerings.
○ Research and explore potential new market sectors for future business growth.
○ Maintain a comprehensive understanding of market trends to inform strategic business decisions.
○ Lead the Estimating department to ensure efficient operations and optimal project outcomes.
○ Serve as the main point of contact for all client interactions, including pre-bid, bid questions, and post-bid meetings.
○ Familiarize yourself with craft licensing requirements across different states.
○ Gather wage and benefits information from local IBEW halls for Union work bids.
○ Research tax and permit requirements for projects in various locations.
○ Participate in kickoff meetings to facilitate seamless transitions from estimation to construction.
○ Develop standard labor units and installation details based on historical data and project needs.
○ Recommend software, tools, and equipment for estimating purposes.
○ Ensure the Estimating department delivers all necessary documents and plans accurately.
○ Oversee the prequalification of subcontractors and solicitation of subcontract pricing.
○ Work closely with vendors to secure accurate and competitive material pricing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

○ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
○ At least 5 years of experience in electrical project estimation within the construction industry.
○ Proficiency with estimating software and tools.
○ Strong knowledge of local and state regulations, including tax and permit requirements.
○ Familiarity with craft licensing requirements and union wage/benefit information.
○ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
○ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
○ Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
○ High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
○ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
