AWS/CES is hiring in Frankfort, Indiana, for a Heat Treat Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the heat treatment equipment used in our HUB bearing manufacturing process. This hands-on role is designed for someone who is passionate about maintaining and improving manufacturing processes, as well as spearheading new product development.
- Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 annually, based on experience.
- Schedule: Day shift position.
Primary Job Functions:
- Oversee the quality and stability of the heat treatment process.
- Develop and maintain specific heat treat programs/recipes.
- Collaborate with the production department to identify inefficiencies and boost productivity.
- Lead new product development initiatives, including PPAP/APQP processes.
- Design and modify tooling and fixturing for production efficiency.
- Manage inventory for essential heat treat materials like coils, jigs, and fixtures.
- Conduct induction heat treatment coil repairs.
- Facilitate technical communication by developing work instructions and training materials for new processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes to enhance production ease and maintain product quality.
- Oversee the installation and startup of new equipment.
Skills & Abilities:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience with induction heat treatment preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and CAD systems.
- Other Requirements:
- Experience with induction heat treat processes.
- Familiarity with CQI-9 requirements is a plus.
- Understanding of PFMEA.
- Thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Previous experience in the automotive, manufacturing, or machining industries preferred.
- Excellent team interaction skills and a strong propensity for continuous process improvement.
- High mechanical aptitude and detail-oriented.
- Resourcefulness and advanced analytical/problem-solving skills.
